Description
|
Ahern Peak is a Relatively Easy climb.
It's just that the approach is SO LONG. We started from the
Highline Cutoff at the Weeping Wall to save some mileage. From
there follow the Highline Trail all the way till you see a sign that
says Ahern Pass. Ahern Pass is a off-trail pass used by
mountaineers to save time. A well worn trail from the Highline
Trail leads to the Pass. From there a well worn Climbers/Game
trail follows the ridge all the way to the summit. Nothing worse
than Class 3 but mostly easy Class 2 hiking. The views are
extraordinary, this little Peak is tucked away in the thick of the Park.
Most of the view to the North is blocked by Ipasha Peak, but almost
everywhere else is a unblocked panorama of the Park. |
