Description
|
Chief Mountain, the most Sacred Mountain to the
Native Blackfeet People. It is said when one dies their soul
ascends this mountain to get to the Heavens. Spectacular
Mountain, stands all alone at the Edge of the Prairies. It's a
very remote area of the park, we saw no other soul that hole day in
the Mountains. Our route was we took Chief Highway that runs
north to Canada, we had trouble finding the trailhead it's barely
marked with an orange piece of plastic. We hiked to Gable Pass
and left the trail towards Chief. There's a Great Scree Field on
it's western flanks and that is how we ascended. |
