Going to the Sun

If you know even the slightest about Glacier NP, you know about the Going To The Sun.  GTTS is the main artery of Glacier.  One of the fantastic things about Glacier is that there is only one road through the park, and that road is the GTTS.  It starts on the westside, goes up along Lake McDonald hits the loop (big switchback) and sneaks its way up to Logan Pass.  After Logan Pass, GTTS than goes down to St. Mary and exits the park on the eastside.  Glacier is surrounded by roads on all it's borders, but the GTTS is the only main road that goes through the park. It's a beautiful road and provides an interesting high alpine experience, yet it's nothing compared to what you see when you get out of your car and explore the vastness of Glacier National Park.  The Road opened in the season of 2002 the latest since 1943, it opened on The 1st of July.  How hard it would be to Hike and Scramble in Glacier if not for the HardWork of the Road Crews that originally built the Road, MANY PRAISES DUE.
