Many Glacier Panoramas
|
Awe Many Glacier, quite an awe inspiring land.
One of the most rugged and cold areas of Glacier NP. In it's
vicinity are 2 of the 6 10,000 footers of the park. Many is the
most heavily visited areas of glacier, but most of the Tourists stick to
the roads and lodge. Solitude is still easy to find, just hit the
trail or a nearby peak. |

View from Unnamed Peak, inbetween Iceberg Peak, and
Swiftcurrent Lookout. To the left is Cannon, than Heaven's Peak
standing all alone. One can see nearly the entire Livingston
Range from this vantage point. This hike was done early in the
season, hence all the snow. This panorama is the backside of
the panorama to the right, which is a view into Many glacier.

This is a view looking in to Many Glacier from the
pinnacle wall. This view works with the Panorama to the left, which provide
together nearly a 270degree view. One can see Many Glacier Hotel
on Swiftcurrent Lake in the deep valley. The mountain to
the left is Mt. Wilbur, Mount Allen is the first mountain to rise to
the right of the deep Glacial Valley. The hump of Mt Siyeh is
visible in the far background. At the far right is Swiftcurrent
Lookout, with the lookout visible on the top of the Mountain. |

Many Glacier area, including it's many lakes and most beautiful
Iceberg Lake, visible just left of the center. Mt Wilbur is
visible rising above snowy Iceberg Lake, with ShangriLa chilling
on the high basin of Wilbur. An easy
hike/scramble from Swiftcurrent Lake. |

This was taken from the summit of Henkel
Mountain looking east in the dead center. Heaven's Peak is visible on
the far side of the pinnacle. Mt Wilbur is visible rising above
snowy Iceberg Lake, with ShangriLa chilling on the high basin of
Wilbur. The lake barely visible on the far left is Josephine
Lake. The hump of Siyeh is barely visible on the far left.
Mt Gould is visible with snow on it's northern flank. |

| Here is Ptarmigan falls. This fall is reached
at the divide of Iceberg Lake and Ptarmigan Tunnel. The fall is
barely visible from the trail. |

spectacular peaks in Many. Mount Siyeh is
clearly visible, Mount Allen is just right of the Easternmost end of
Mount Gould. Logan's Pass is clearly visible and it's Picture
perfect Peace. |

taken about a mile down the trail from piegan pass. Matahapi Pk
is on the far left with Going to the Sun Mtn behind, Piegan Pk is
in the middle with Pollack Mtn to the right. |

takes up the blunt of the picture. With the Peaks of from left
to right, Pollack, Bishops Cap, Mt Gould, and Mt Wilbur far off in
the distance. |

10,014' |=| This pano is from Mount Siyeh the 3rd
highest Peak in the park. You can see the great peaks in the Northern
end of the park (right), and a sea of peaks in the central part of the
park (left). Mount Gould and it's 4,000' face, with Grinnell
glacier on it's northern flanks. Logan Pass is easily seen and
the mountains around that beautiful area. |

8,914' |=| Pano from Crowfeet Mountain, Henkel
and Crowfeet are connected by a couple mile long ridge that Provides
Amazing views the whole way. Most of the peaks around Many
Glacier are visible along with Iceberg lake near the Center and
Elizabeth Lake is visible in it's deep valley to the Left. |
